More About Us

Hello, I'm Snowhite and you know lot's about me already. This page is more about Guinea Pig hood! ( us ). We are going to help you care for us! So, I wonder who's your new guinea pig? Well we welcome her/him to Guinea Pig Hood! A tip, guinea pigs can not live on their own so be sure to get your new guinea pig a buddy! (guinea pig or rabbit). We also welcome her/his buddy!

Things you need

You need:

  • A hutch (raise it of the ground so cat's and dogs can't get to it)

  • A run

  • A water bottle

  • A non plastic food bowl

  • Sawdust / wood shavings

  • Hay

  • Guinea pig food

Lot's of love!

Cleaning

  • First put your guinea pigs in their run (over grass of course!).

  • Then spray the cage with disinfectant and let it dry.

  • Once it's dry, coat the bottom with newspaper (old ones!).

  • After that's done, coat the bottom with sawdust (wood shavings).

  • Then put in a bunch of hay, fill the food bowl and fill the water bottle.

You must clean out their cage every week, and check on them every day. Also, give them lot's of love and care, because guinea pigs will love you back!

Things they eat

If your guinea pig's coat shine has gone, it's always sitting in the corner of the run/cage, and it's eyes have gone all flaky then there is something wrong with your guinea pig. Take him to the vet's immediately.

Choosing

Choose a guinea pig which is lively and well looking otherwise it could be ill. It's best to have two girls because boys some times fight, but boys are ok.
